Monte Argentario

Connected to the mainland from the town of Orbetello and the two sand bars known as Giannella and Feniglia, Monte Argentario is a renowned tourist resort surrounded by the blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, with coves often only reachable by boat or on foot. Hiking and mountain biking enthusiasts have a whole array of paths available to them that climb from the sea through the Mediterranean scrub up to 635 meters above sea level, while golf enthusiasts can take advantage of the Argentario Golf Club’s 77-hectare course, surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean scrub – 18 holes with a unique view. The best known and most popular spots are Porto Santo Stefano, from where ferries depart to the islands of Giannutri and Giglio, and Porto Ercole, smaller and more glamorous with its historic village and its exclusive port where tourist boats depart for excursions to the most beautiful beaches.
